Rita Ora’s “Girls” Now Featuring Cardi B & Bebe Rexha Has Premiered: Her “Bang Bang” Time Is Now!

Believe it because it's true. The studio version of Rita Ora's "Girls" is out. 365 days after she first live-debuted it in a UK festival, the British pop singer finally officially released "Girls" this Friday morning. The new version of "Girls" you will be hearing below no longer features RAYE (UK) and MØ (Denmark), though. The European girls have been replaced by America' Bebe Rexha and Cardi B. Charli XCX is the only collaborator from the original who still is still featured on "Girls".

Why the big delay of the song? Well, Rita's second studio album was supposed to finally come out last year but then it was pushed back for the millionth time (yeah I know, SO OVER IT). This new delay made Rita and her label re-think (for the millionth time too) some of the already recorded songs for RO2. In the case of "Girls", Atlantic clearly must've thought it was album-worthy, and that it had potential to be a future single but that it needed some extra tweaking. Hence, the replacing of some of the original collaborators for bigger names. Do I approve? Yeah, totally. Bebe Rexha and Cardi B are HUGE right now. I do feel a little bad for RAYE and MØ but I'm sure they understood. It's all label politics and strategies.

The new "Girls" sounds fantastic, it's definitely been improved, I'm living for the "sexual liberation" lyrics, and I just hope this becomes a big hit this summer. I mean, if this doesn't give Rita Ora her first proper U.S hit, then nothing will. This is such an opportunity Atlantic has given her. It's exactly the kind of opportunity Republic gave Jessie J with "Bang Bang" and the Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj features.
