The careers of several beloved artists are naturally coming to an end, and in some cases it’s their chart flops the ones that are forcing their career to end, but the journey of Billie Eilish is just beginning, and I’m so excited to witness what she’s going to give us next. Following her outstanding “dont smile at me” EP last year and the her “Lovely” collaboration with Khalid, Billie is now gearing up to commence a new era, possibly a new EP or her much-anticipated full-length debut studio album. Billie released new single titled “you should see me in a crown” last night. She first gave Annie Mac the first-play exclusive on her BBC Radio 1 show and then Billie released the song on digital platforms.
“you should see me in a crown” is a dark bop. That’s the best description.
“I'm gonna run this nothing town / Watch me make 'em bow / One by one by one / Your silence is my favorite sound”, an angry Billie Eilish sings in the chorus of her new song.
Dark, moody, fresh, timeless, unique…. I mean, “you should see me in a crown” is everything I didn’t know I needed today.
