Panic! at the Disco premiered this morning (July 7th) the music video for “Hallelujah”, the lead single from the rock band’s forthcoming fifth studio album (the first since founding member Spencer Smith quit), which will hit stores later this year via DCD2/Fueled by Ramen.

The rock song – don’t be fooled by its title, there’s nothing ‘gospel’ in “Hallelujah” – was digitally released back in April and it wasn’t until today - three months later! – that the MV is released on YouTube. Why did it take so long?

Read the official description of the clip as provided in a press release: “The video features frontman, Brendon Urie, taking the role of both preacher and confessing sinner in a world where popular video game Monument Valley comes to life”. Yep, this is a pretty precise description of things.

How cool were the running around the maze inside the mountain scenes? It gave me Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring vibes when Gandalf and the fellowship were running away from huge demon inside the mountain mine.

What do you think of the video?
