Nicole Scherzinger promised a new single in "early 2011" and here it is! Although, unfortunately for her, we're talking about a leak here and not an official release :S - "Don't Hold You Breath" is scheduled to come out in the UK on March 6th (both in physical format and digitally) and has already leaked! Leaked two months ago...that's got to be bad. However, "Poison" also leaked early and still became a hit in the UK (it got to #3), although Nicole's The X Factor performance helped a lot, and this time around there won't be an X Factor slot to help Ms Scherzy. I say she pushes up the single's release date ASAP. "Don't Hold You Breath", originally, was a song produced by Timbaland and sung by Keri Hilson, intended for Shock Value II but for undisclosed reasons it never got on that CD. Time passed and the song was given to Nicole Scherzinger. The track has been re-worked by Dave Aude and Jonas Jerberg, therefore making Nicole's version super different. More mellow, sweet, emotional, 'pop-friendly' and....so Katy Perry 'Teenage Dream' style. Is that bad? Not to me. The bridge is mesmerizing btw! But is DHYB really up to the level of "Poison"? I don't think so. With some luck tho, Nicole can make this a Top 10 hit in the UK.
