New Song: Jesse McCartney - 'Back Together'

Jesse McCartney Back Together artwork cover

Jesse McCartney channels his inner Justin Timberlake in "Back Together", the official lead single from his upcoming yet-untitled fourth studio album due in stores 'soon' via independent label, Eight0Eight Records. Jesse promised new music soon, but I wasn't expecting first single to come this soon! "Back Together" was released on iTunes USA at midnight on Tuesday, August 13. Take a listen above!

The heartthrob boy who at age 17 ruled charts, and garnered so much success and fans across the world, during the years 2004-2005 with his debut album "Beautiful", and cheesy, lovey dovey pop songs, is all grown now in 2013, and feels comfortable to test new, more mature, sounds for his fourth album. After "Beautiful", the rest of his albums weren't hits. 2006's "Right Where You Want Me" undeperformed in the States, and 2008's "Departure" shared the same fate, although the latter did spawn a medium hit in the form of the Ludacris-assisted, "How Do You Sleep?".

But Jessie wants 2013 to be the year of his true comeback. "Back Together" is so unlike anything he's done before. It's Justin Timberlake-esque! And that ain't a bad thing for me, 'cause this sound also works for Jesse. From the falsetto, melodies, and instruments, Jesse pays huge homage to JT. "Back Together" is a funky, old-school, big band, featuring guitars, horns, and drums, track that hears Mr McCartney asking her ex to please return to him. This sounds just awesome! I may have to stan for him again, after all.

Hit or Miss?
