New Music: Rebecca Ferguson - "I Hope" [Review]

British singer-songwriter Rebecca Ferguson gave Graham Norton the green light to exclusively premiere on his BBC Radio 2 show her new single "I Hope" on Saturday (October 12). Listen to a high-quality radio-rip below.

Rebecca is known in the UK for being the runner-up of Series 7 of The X Factor UK in 2010 (Matt Cardle was proclaimed winner). A year later, in December 2011, Rebecca released her debut album "Heaven", via a joint deal between Syco and Epic Records, which spawned one Top 5 hit ("Nothing's Real But Love"), and went on to be certified double platinum for sales exceeding the 500,000 units.

After almost two years of silence - although there was that failed attempt to crack America -Rebecca returns in the last quarter of 2013 to release her second album, "Freedom". This will hit stores in Britain on December 2nd, but one week before (November 24th) the lead single ("I Hope") will be officially released on iTunes and other platforms.

"I Hope" has it all to reach #1. It's that good! Rebecca's new single is a big and breezy soul-pop-blues mid-tempo with a highly catchy chorus. "I hope, I hope, I hope life treats you good", sings Rebecca to her ex on "I Hope". The song is about saying one last farewall to that man who wasn't the man of your life, and that despite it all, there's no hard feelings.
