"Little Pretty Liars" star Lucy Hale wants to make it happen in the music industry. For that, she's released today (January 7th) on iTunes her debut single "You Sound Good to Me". Lucy has said in the past that Shania Twain and Faith Hill are two of her biggest music influences. Do you hear that influence in the Lucy's new pop-country song?
She's from Memphis, Tennessee, so country music is in her veins, and that's probably why recording "You Sound Good to Me" must have felt so comfotable for Lucy.
To me, "You Sound Good to Me" is a pretty song, sunny enough to bright up any cloudy, grey day. However, it just doesn't scream "smash hit" immediately to me. What it does scream right away is, "this is something Jessie James could've recorded". I don't get Faith Hills or Shania Twain vibes in "You Sound Good to Me" if I'm being honest.
