Missy Elliott Performs Her Hits At Pemberton Festival In Canada, New Album Out In 2015’s Q4?
Seeing Missy Elliott perform live is nowadays a rare thing. So far this year we’ve only seen her with Katy Perry at the Super Bowl, and a few weeks ago at the Essence Festival in New Orleans. After this, two were the remaining booked Missy Elliott gigs for the rest of the year; one that took place last night (July 19) in Canada and another one that will be held in the UK in September. Is September her last free month for festival performances because the last quarter of 2015 is ‘booked’ as that’s going to be the time for her official return? Will Missy’s long-awaited comeback album (her seventh) be released in the last quarter of this year? Rumors are strong that this will be the case. Right after the Super Bowl, and in view of the incredible surge in sales of her back catalog as a direct consequence, Missy hit the studio to start working on new music (knowing fans have still love for her) and it’s been confirmed that a new album IS going to happen. Pharrell Williams is said to have produced the first single! No doubt official word will be made public once she gets that UK festival out of the way in two months.
Getting back to Missy’s ‘rare’ live performances these days, her latest; on Day 4 of the Pemberton Music Festival in Pemberton, Canada on Sunday, has been highly praised by local news outlets. Missy’s set was electrifying, fans received pure LIFE, and all in all it was solid proof that Ms. Elliott is in a perfect state for a comeback.
