Kanye West Features In Francis and The Lights’ Bizarre New Song And Music Video “Friends”: Watch
What a weird song, but hey Kanye is in it so I guess it’s worth checking out.
Francis and the Lights, some American I had idea of its existence until now, just dropped a music video on YouTube for their song “Friends” and guess who’s in it? Kanye West! Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon is also in it but nobody’s here for him so whatever.
Actually, doing a quick research online I found out that we kinda had already heard “Friends” in the past. The song “Summer Friends” on Chance the Rapper’s “Coloring Book” mixtape, which the rapper released back in May, samples Francis and the Lights’ “Friends”. But there’s more to this story:

Ohhhh! So this is the original. OK.
“Friends” is supposed to be a happy song but I got really depressed hearing it. I don’t think I will do it again.
“We could be friends / Just put your head on my shoulders / And I will still cry for you”, Francis boy sings in the chorus.
The track is pretty bizarre as the melody is all over the place and all of the vocals in the song are heavily edited - vocoder style.
In the music video - watch below - Kanye is seeing doing an awkward cameo and Francis and John Vernon a weird interpretive choreography together.
