Jennifer Lopez - Venus (New Song!)
Jennifer Lopez just can't stop slaying us!! This weekend has been a complete J.LO take-over - First her official comeback single "On The Floor" leaks, then her viral video for "Good Hit" premieres and now we get to listen to another new song by the latina diva! And it also rocks!! Ms Lopez, with the help of RedOne, has recorded a remake of Dutch band Shocking Blue's 1969 hit "Venus". Jennifer's version will serve as the jingle to the new "Gillette Venus" TV commercial set to air in the coming weeks. Jenny will in fact also STAR in said commercial, according to some sources. Apparently, the commercial was shot back in October 2010 and directed by Sophie Muller. Maybe 'Gillette' will be an American Idol sponsor? lol.
Anyhow, props to RedOne are also in order as the Swedish producer besides bringing this pop classic up to the spotlight again, he - I dare say it - has even improved it! The infectious synths and Jenny's vocals have made this remake one freakin' hot effort. "Venus" will not appear on "Love?" - atleast not in the official tracklist but I guess depending on the success of Jennifer's Gillette commercial, her version might end up as a b-side or a bonus track. Part of the CD or not, one thing is clear. J.LO is back!
