Becky G - "Break A Sweat" [Music Video Premiere!]
Becky G had a momentum going last year when her song “Shower” entered the Top 20 on Pop radio in the US, but as months passed, and failed-to-make-the-same-impact new singles were released, that momentum ended and worrisome about her future started to spark among industry experts and online blogs. “Can’t Stop Dancin’”, “Lovin’ So Hard” and newest one “Break A Sweat” failed to impress and we honestly started to wonder what was RCA Records going to do about Becky G – let her go? Keep trying? Well, that “wondering” ends today. Becky G premiered today (Oct. 9) the official music video for “Break A Sweat” on VEVO. Watch below:
The bass-heavy pop/urban track is the latest single to be lifted from that allegedly upcoming full-length debut album of Becky G, it’s yet another Dr. Luke-produced number, and although “instant-sounding”, the song isn’t really anything mind-blowing or worthy of being a “pop hit”. Sorry, Becky G – you know that I liked all of your previous singles, but “Break A Sweat” is just ‘meh’. The music video is really dope, though! Becky G looks super fierce in it. She really can flaunt different looks and nail them all. She can do a chola girl, an urban girl or a sophisticated girl. The “Break A Swear” MV shows Becky G serving face, body, fierce strutting and amateur (yet better than before) choreography execution all in cool, urban-ready sets.
